Portfolio > Kill to Hunt, Hunt to Kill

Following the performance at La Esquina Gallery. "Tito" begins his three day hunt at an undisclosed location in the secluded woods of somewhere. He was followed by photographer Josh Ferdinand who documented his experiences/hunt until his camera ran out of film. Tito brought with him only materials from his performance and tools created from his former installation "The Truth". The success and comfort of the artist during his time in isolation would depend largely on his ability to successfully manifest his constructed ideal of "Tito the Hunter". In this way art begins to imitate life as Jason Dixons need for comfort and survival becomes intrinsically connected to Tito the hunters need to provide it. By not providing the viewer with a concrete location for the hunt much of the work exist as a malleable story in the mind of the viewer. The following photos document a performance trying to escape itself.
